I have decided to take a little vacation from Facebook. I bought a one way ticket and I can honestly say I don't know when or if I will be coming back.
After a good talk with my best friend this morning I realized that I have been spending too much time stalking people looking at Facebook. Since I have been off work this summer I can't even count the number of times I open my FB app each day...I'm too embarrassed to even admit the actual number. I would scan through my News Feed, stalk a few people's walls and then look through dozens of pictures. The sad things is many of these "friends" are far from friends in real life. Old high school acquaintances, friends of friends, strangers that have businesses, etc...really?!?!! Why do I care that so and so broke up, I haven't seen either of them since college (almost 7 years ago) or why I do I need to hear about blankety blank's political opinion and if I see one more quote about the hardships of life I might go over the edge. Now let me just say, I do have some good friends that I enjoy reading updates about or seeing pictures of their kids, but these are the people that I communicate with in "the real world" so I can stay up to date in real time!
With that all being said, I am not cutting off all forms of social media. I love blogging and know that this will be something I will always treasure and look back on, even if I only have 4 real followers....I know there are more of you out there reading this blog, HI mom, dad, Daymi, Terry Lynn and occasionally Tayt! ;) I also have a new love for Instagram thanks to my favorite brothers! Follow me...allisontodd08!
So, until then (whenever "then" may be) I will be spending my time in other ways. Hopefully healthier ways, like working out or cleaning my house! Adios Facebook, it's been "real"! ;)
Love your blog :) wish I had the ambition to do one
ReplyDelete!!! Hope all is well :)
Aww, thanks Cassie. I'm simply writing this as a way to keep memories. I'm not trying to impress bc I know my writing is average at best. Haha! You should do it! I hope it is something we can look back on some day! It also saves me from having to print all the pictures I take or write in a baby book! ;)
ReplyDeleteI will miss you from FB! I love reading your blog and seeing pictures of your precious boy. I will keep checking your blog so I can keep in touch. Can you believe how big they have gotten. It is crazy how time flies.
ReplyDeleteThanks Leslie. Why did you stop blogging? Are you too busy floating in your pool with your sweet girl?!?! ;)
